David: Since World War II, our governments have measured success with one statistic: gross domestic product. We were told that endless growth of GDP meant progress, prosperity, health, security. But this economic system is based on centuries of over exploitation of ecosystems, natural resources, and entire continents.
It's left populations worldwide destitute or struggling, and our planet in peril - all while the millionaire class grew into the billionaire class.

This system assumes the economy is separate from the world we inhabit - which of course, it isn't. Our civilization exists on a finite planet, as does the economy.
Now, as world leaders fail to meet the moment all of us are reaping the consequences - from wildfires, to floods, and much more. In cities around the world, everyday people in classrooms, on urban streets, and in the hallways of government buildings are increasingly asking: “Is there another way?” We were warned decades ago.
A renegade economist told us this would happen. He was dismissed, shunned, and even canceled by the economic establishment. But now in a world reaching its limits, could his theories be the guide to a solution? Cities 1.5 presents: Going Steady, a new five-part mini-series exploring the ideas of a man who dared to imagine what a better world for all could look like.
Featuring never-heard-before interviews with the man himself, this is a story you won't want to miss.
